Turning a Soap Dispenser into a Vase | Simple DIY Experiment

I like picking up random things around the house and seeing what they can turn into.

This time, it was a simple ceramic soap dispenser. Instead of using it as it is, I tried giving it a completely different look — something more like a rustic, limestone-style vase. The process was straightforward: adding texture using sand, then building it up with paint until it started looking like something else entirely.

There’s no fixed method here. It’s mostly about trying things and adjusting as you go.

Along with that, I also worked on a plain white ceramic pot. This one got a bit of a different treatment — some clay work for texture, followed by spray paint and a bit of acrylic colour to finish it off.

Both pieces started out very basic, but with a few changes, they ended up looking quite different from what they originally were.

It’s these small experiments that make DIY interesting. You don’t always know how it’ll turn out, but that’s part of the process.
